Disappointed iPhone Repair Experience (July 2024) In January 2024, I had my iPhone screen digitizer replaced at this shop. At the time, I was led to believe the replacement part was original equipment manufacturer (OEM). However, I was later notified within the software it was actually an aftermarket screen. Unfortunately, just six months later, the screen froze and became unresponsive. Upon returning to the shop, the technician claimed the back of the screen was making contact with the battery, causing both to malfunction. They pointed to a swollen battery, which I couldn't notice any issue. The phone has no problem charging. While this explanation didn't sit well since the repair warranty apparently didn't apply, what truly disappoints me is the lack of transparency about the replacement part used. It's important for customers to be informed about the type of parts used in repairs. Having a repair fail within 6 months, with no warranty coverage for what turned out to be an aftermarket part, is concerning. It only takes one negative experience to damage a reputation. Because of this, I won't be returning to this shop and wouldn't recommend them to others, especially if transparency about parts used is important to you.
